Spring is here! Come celebrate the sunshine with family and friends of all ages at the 1st annual Spring Family Field Day on April 26th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event, taking place on the Chelmsford High School Plateau, will be hosted by National Honor Society and Thomas Jefferson Forum. There will be games to play and live entertainment performed by students every hour. Since this event takes place through lunch-time, there will be free food donated by local businesses. In addition to all these fun activities, we are hosting a capture the flag game for each Chelmsford High School class. Besides bragging rights, the winning team also receives 20% percent of our entire profit from the event. The other profits from this event will be evenly donated to the AIDS Action Committee and The Chelmsford Food Pantry. The AIDS Action Committee helps families of those suffering from AIDS, and The Chelmsford Food Pantry plays a huge role in helping the hungry in our own community. The cost of admission, including food and games, is only $7! Buy your tickets now to take part in this great event!

This year, in order to keep with the times and to make everything organized, we have utilized various channels for the flow of news and resources, and newly added to this armada of information is a website for the National Honor Society here at CHS! You can find it at http://chelmsfordnhs.webs.com/. It is extremely easy to navigate and has a lot of useful tools for you as an NHS member! We will be updating it frequently with new events, information, and other resources that you guys will find helpful!
Right now the Chelmsford NHS has:
Remind 101 (text @4eb77a to 978-319-6611)
11 people to contact (9 board members and 2 teachers) with emails and phone numbers
And now a website!
With all this, it should be easy to stay up to date with whats cooking in the NHS.

Hey NHS members we have a bunch of new tutoring opportunities for you.
ALL OF THESE OPPORTUNITIES COUNT AS NHS HOURS.
1. There is a 5th grade student who is struggling in math and needs a tutor. She would prefer a female tutor, and you would help her out at the library for about $8 an hour.
2. McCarthy Middle School needs some help with after school tutoring. They need tutors for their McCASAP program. This is a program for middle schoolers who need help in a specific subject, organizational skills, or test-taking/studying strategies. It takes place from 2:40 - 3:40 on Wednesday or Thursday.
3. For those of you who didn’t get a chance to sign up for high school MCAS tutoring, middle school MCAS tutoring opportunities will be coming up soon, so stay posted.
These are all limited availability, so if you are interested please see the Facebook post and comment. Make sure when you comment you mention which opportunity you are interested in.
